Highlights From Family Home Evening

Family Home Evening at our house lasts an average of 10 minutes every Monday night.
Tonight we caught most of it on video. Here are a couple of highlights I wanted to share:

Annelise usually leads the opening song, which is always Love At Home. If you watch closely you can see her sing the word "home."

Adam gave the lesson, which was a repeat of the talk he gave in primary. His performance tonight was more articulate than it was on Sunday. Still, the transcript has been included for you below because I'm good like that.

Jesus Christ taught the people, "If ye love me, keep my commandments."

Jesus commanded us to be baptized.

Jesus commanded us to forgive. If someone hurts you, then you say, "It's okay, I still love you."

Jesus said love everyone. Treat them kindly, too.

He told a story about a traveler attacked by robbers....and left him on the side of the road to die.
Two people passed by and did not help. A third person passed by. He was a good Samaritan.
He stopped to help. He carried that man to an inn and left money for his care.

Jesus taught us how to be kind. We can be happy if we follow his commandments.

In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Dad: Amen
Annelise: Baby's turn!

Happy Birthday, sweet sweet girl!

I don't know where the time has gone....

She is already TWO!!
She is the personification of joy.

She was MUCH more excited about the cake before we lit the candles.

Recent Pics

Grace, these are for you.
....ahem....
and everyone else who is familiar with/disappointed by my blogging slackerhood.
Grace asked to see some recent photos of the kids so here they are.
I LOVE this photo of Adam. It is such a perfect moment captured, showing him doing what he does best....finding bugs. His expression is so sincere and his eyes as big as ever.
Here is Peter at his preschool graduation. His teacher did such a cute job of dressing them in cap and gown. Pete got to be the flag-bearer and lead the processional. He had a great year at preschool. Ms. Roper did so many fun and interesting things with the kids.
I tried to find some photos to capture Annelise's beautiful curls. They are the most flouncy after I have given her a bath, but even after a full day's work, they mostly remain. She is so beautiful, and her facial expressions are hilarious. Weston once jokingly suggested he might just cut her curls off when I wasn't home. I'm pretty sure I threatened him with death.

Who's going to lead the music?

Annelise was the self-appointed chorister for the opening song at Family Home Evening tonight. It was so cute.
I'm sorry we didn't catch it on video.

Also known as "Shiner"

If you were to ask Peter how he got his black eye, this is what he would tell you:

You: Woah, bud! What happened to your eye?

Peter: Oh, well….Adam and me crashed, cause we were running in the night.

And he just got a bruise right there.

Peter: And….well, do you know what swollen is?

You: Yeah, I think I’ve heard of that.

Pete: Well, swollen means get bigger. And it got swollen. And it’s also called a shiner.

*I think we can say he has effectively learned all the terminology associated with having a black eye. He was confused by the “shiner” bit at first, but didn’t take long to adapt.
